Mijn broer Niek werkt momenteel in het Petionville Golf Club-kamp in Port au Prince, waar zich circa 40.000 slachtoffers van de aardbeving in Haïti bevinden.
Hierbij enkele foto’s, waaruit vooral duidelijk wordt wat een veerkracht de slachtoffers van de aardbeving hebben. In het kamp, dat bestaat uit kleine tenten, is een complete economie op gang gekomen, met een markt, restaurants, winkels en een internet-café. De situatie is nog steeds nijpend, maar deze foto’s geven toch enige reden tot optimisme.
My brother Niek now works in the Petionville Golf Club camp in Port au Prince. There are approximately 40,000 refugees in the camp.
Below are some photos which demonstrate the resilience of the refugees. In the Petionville camp, consisting of nothing more than tents, an entire economy has arisen. There is a market, restaurants, shops, even an internet cafe. If there’s anything to be optimistic about, you can see it in these pictures.
